Short answer

You can start a tallow skincare brand without making the product or buying stock. With TallowPal you pick products, design a label and connect your store, and we label and ship each order under your brand. Your startup cost is a sample kit. Once you sell, you pay $39 a month, plus the unit price of each product you sell and its shipping.

The hard parts

What new tallow makers get stuck on.

These come up again and again when people start a tallow business from their kitchen. With TallowPal, each one is already handled.

Finding good tallow

Suet or trim, grass-fed or grass-finished, and who will tell you which. Ours is pasture-raised, grass-fed, grass-finished beef suet tallow from small family farms, dry-rendered, food-grade, never bleached or deodorized, with no additives.

Texture and smell

Grainy batches, beefy smells and balms that will not stay whipped. Our formulas are made the same way every batch by a production team.

Labels and claims

Net weight, ingredient order, your address and the words you cannot use. The label template and our check cover it.

Shelf life

Customers want to know when it was made. Every unit carries a lot code and best-by date.

Packing and shipping

Boxes, labels, carriers and late nights at the kitchen table. We ship each order within 2 business days.

Cash tied up in stock

Minimum orders lock up thousands before you know what sells. Here you pay per unit, after a customer orders.

A note on claims

Many tallow brands start with a personal story about skin. Tell it, but keep it about your experience, never a promise to treat eczema, acne or any condition. That is the line between a cosmetic and a drug.

Questions from new founders

Is a tallow business a fad or can it pay?

Demand is still growing: "tallow and honey balm" gets about 22,200 US searches a month, up 18% on last year. Quality balms sell for about $30 to $50 a jar. What you keep depends on your marketing, so test with low costs first. That is what no minimums are for.

Can I say tallow helps eczema or acne?

No. Claims to treat or cure a condition make a product a drug under FDA rules, and marketplaces remove listings that make them. Describe how it feels, what is in it and how to use it.

Do I need insurance?

We carry product liability insurance for our manufacturing. Most marketplaces and retailers also expect brands to carry their own, and Amazon requires $1 million in coverage for beauty sellers from November 2026.

Do I need a business license?

Most brands register a business and a sales tax permit before selling. Rules vary by state and city. Our guide to starting a tallow skincare business covers the basics.

Can I sell at farmers markets too?

Yes. Order stock in any quantity with your label. Some markets require products to be made by the vendor, so check your market's rules first.
